Dear Residents,
We have been made aware of concerns raised by some residents regarding the recent charges applied to individual service charge accounts under the Q1 2024 estate schedule. Please be advised that while these charges have been updated on the system and are now visible on the occupier portal, all relevant accompanying documents, including a full copy of the budget, cover letter and explanatory notes, will be dispatched via post/email this week, reaching you within the next 2-3 working days.
We understand that some residents are surprised by the increase in the quarterly charge, especially considering the minimal raises to service charges over the past three to four years. You will be able to find additional explanations regarding the rationale and purpose behind these in the cover letter and explanatory notes, which all residents will receive shortly.
We plan to host a series of Residents’ Meetings in the Newhall Project Office from mid-February, on a phase-by-phase basis. Further information on dates and timings for these meetings will be shared with you in the next 5 working days.
If you have any queries or concerns, please direct them to Zack at zjermy@shw.co.uk or Dominic at newhallestate@shw.co.uk.
Thank you,
Zack Jermy, Senior Property Manager, SHW
Its not just the increases its the rent charge thats been introduced. This has delayed our sale by a month to date as we are unable to get the supporting documentation from SHW or Newhall projects. We are in real danger of losing our sale because of this rent charge and a cost of £1000s to us.
Are the Newhall residents aware of how much a problem this rent charge could cause them. We are getting no information from SHW who just say they’ve passed it to Newhall Projects. I’m currently seeking legal advice as we are unable to sell our property without the documentation regarding the rent charge.
Thank you for comment here and on the Newhall Facebook page, which has been passed onto SHW for action.
How dare your company issue threatening/demand payment letters on 26th January for an invoice dated 17th January and only received by me last week.
Quarterly invoice that was due for 1st January should have been sent in December 23. I suggest you concentrate your time on getting the service charge out on time rather than wasting postage costs on unnecessary letters which causes upset to residents.
Thank you for your comment, which has been passed to SHW for a response. Please expect a response from SHW.
