Introduction

Newhall Projects has a social media presence on Facebook and Instagram. We understand that social media can be a convenient way to communicate, but it is important to keep in mind that our social media channels are primarily intended for sharing information and engaging with our community in a positive and constructive manner.

Our primary goal is to create a productive and supportive environment on our social media channels, which requires us to ensure that all comments and discussions are respectful and constructive. This means that if someone makes a comment or raises an issue, we will sometimes direct them to the correct channel for resolution.

We do not want our channels to become a negative space where individuals feel the need to vent their frustrations or complaints, but we do want people to enter into purposeful discussions, which we will take offline as and when necessary and work to resolve in a solution focused way.

Please Note, the Newhall Social Media Channels are not monitored outside of office hours and should not be used to report estate issues. If you need to report an estate issue, please email: newhallestate@shw.co.uk.

Protecting Privacy When Flying Drones*

Newhall Projects occasionally features drone footage on our social media channels. We thought we should clarify our drone usage in the area, particularly with regard to privacy and GDPR.

Our drone footage is filmed by one our landscaping operatives using a DJI Mini 3 Pro (DJI RC-N1). This type of drone falls into the ‘Open Category’ and this means it presents low risk to third parties and authorisation from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is not required. They do however, have Operator ID with the CAA.

When filming in Newhall we will:

  • Respect People’s Privacy: When using a drone with a camera, we will always respect others’ privacy rights. We actively avoid filming or recording in areas where people expect privacy, like homes or gardens.
  • Camera Capabilities: We know the capabilities of the camera used on the drone and it is low resolution and this is to prevent unintentional privacy violations. We are aware of the zoom capabilities and record using low resolution to ensure privacy.
  • Stay Visible: Our Drone Operative is easily identifiable when flying the drone to ensure that they can take responsibility for its actions.
  • Notify Others: Where possible we let people know when we are recording or taking pictures, but we avoid taking photographs or filming video content in private settings. We make every attempt to avoid flying over gardens, terraces, groups or crowds of people.
  • Sharing on Social Channels: We are mindful of and edit videos and photographs in a way that protects peoples privacy. We will never share photos or videos that are harmful or unfair.
  • Secure Media: We store images safely and always delete unnecessary footage.

If you encounter content that features you or your home and would rather not have shared, please send an email to community@newhallproject.co.uk including a description and the date of the post, and we will conduct an investigation to determine whether it should be removed.

Newhall Project will regularly review and update this policy and guidelines as needed, to ensure that they are relevant and effective.

Newhall Project.
