Newhall is a beautiful place to live, with plenty of green spaces for residents to enjoy. However, one issue that has been consistently raised by residents is the problem of dog waste. While many dog owners are responsible and clean up after their pets, unfortunately, there are still some who do not. This can lead to unsightly and unhygienic conditions in public areas, as well as posing a health risk to both humans and other animals.

To address this problem, Newhall Project + SHW have installed dog waste bins around the area. These bins are specially designed to make it easy for dog owners to dispose of their pet’s waste safely and hygienically. They are emptied safely and regularly by our new contractor Pet Waste Solutions to ensure that they do not become overflowing or unpleasant. Pet Waste Solutions is a professional pet waste removal company. They are SafeContractor Approved (Certificate: KE1981), which means that we know they are taking the health and safety of residents and visitors seriously. They are also Waste Carrier Licensed: CBDU448794, have Public Liability Insurance of up to £5 million and fully risk assessed.

Residents who are unsure of the location of these dog waste bins can use what3words to find them. What3words is a simple and innovative system that divides the world into a grid of three-meter squares, with each square assigned a unique three-word address. This means that residents can simply enter the three-word address of the nearest dog waste bin into their smartphone or other device and be directed straight to it.

For current locations TAP the What3Words link and use your favourite digital map application to find them:

Of course, the responsibility for dealing with dog waste doesn’t just lie with the Newhall Projects + SHW and the provision of dog waste bins. Dog owners themselves also have a duty to clean up after their pets and ensure that they do not create a mess in public areas. This means carrying bags with them when out walking their dogs and disposing of waste in the designated bins.

It’s important for all residents to work together to keep Newhall clean and tidy. By using the dog waste bins and being responsible pet owners, we can all do our part to make sure that our public spaces remain pleasant and hygienic for everyone to enjoy. So let’s all do our bit and keep Newhall clean and green!
