Statement Posted on Behalf of SHW: Dear Residents, Over the past week it has come to our attention that misinformation has been and continues to be disseminated across several platforms with regards to the Newhall estate. Specifically, concernSnrd comments have been made regarding the rise in estimated service charge expenditure for 2024.
We are aware that the year-on-year rise has come as a surprise to many and we hope the recently issued explanation notes and the upcoming residents meetings later this month (Please TAP: https://bit.ly/NewhallResidentsMeetings2024 for dates) are able to provide reassurance and reasoning behind the decision to apply these changes.
We must however stress that the information currently being shared and circulated across private WhatsApp and Facebook groups, and via posted flyers, appears to be factually incorrect and potentially misleading. The majority of figures quoted are outdated, and a substantial proportion of the information/reasoning has been removed from context and/or misinterpreted.
Both SHW and the Newhall Projects teams are committed to ensuring residents are kept informed of decision-making processes and justifications for cost increases are transparent and easily understood.
